End of Life (EOL) For Microsoft Windows 10 Home and Pro

Microsoft Windows 10 will reach end of support on 14th October 2025.

Microsoft have announced that Windows 10 Home and Pro will officially reach its End of Life on 14th October 2025. This applies to the following editions:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 Home
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Education
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

The current version 22H2 will be the final version of Windows 10 and all editions will remain in support and receive monthly security update releases up until that date. From 14th October 2025, you will no longer be able to:

  • Receive free monthly security update releases
  • Receive technical support from Microsoft
  • Receive bug fix patches

However, Microsoft have announced the option to extend security updates for Windows 10 beyond 2025 for a price, with the cost yet to be disclosed.

We therefore recommend customers who are still running Windows 10 workstations to start considering your options and decide on whether you wish to sweat the asset or replace, based upon both the hardware warranty status, age of the device and whether it is Windows 11 capable (ready). It is important to note that if you wish to continue operating Windows 10 after this date, it could leave you vulnerable to security threats and possible issues in the future. It is crucial to assess these options carefully and make a well-informed decision to safeguard the future of your system.
