Public Cloud Service/Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Solution Nutanix Xi Frame

Nutanix Xi Frame allows organisations to deliver their digital workspace as a service through a fully managed platform

It's becoming an increasingly popular option to have the freedom to run software from any browser and any device, anywhere. While software makes this possible, the industry has been moving to a Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) model which runs desktop operating systems inside virtual machines on servers in a cloud provider's data center.

What does it do?

Xi Frame adopts a multi-cloud approach to Desktop-as-a-Service by leveraging Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) (on premise infrastructure) to host Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) (running desktop applications in the cloud).

At its simplest, VDI is the virtualisation of a user's desktop on a centralised server instead of using resources via a device like a laptop, PC or workstation. VDI still requires a user to have a device to access the virtualised desktop operating system, but the workloads remain on the centralised server.
