AutoCAD P&ID 2009 Essentials

Training Course Description

This course is intended for everyone that has a need for generating Piping and Instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) or Process Flow diagrams (PFD). This course can be followed by either draughtsmen or process engineers who have the need to quickly draw a P&ID or PFD.


Training Course Prerequisites

Before attending this course, delegates should be able to understand, read and create a piping and instrumentation diagram. In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD is not required. In addition, it is recommended that the delegate have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows.

    • Changing equipment, valves, reducers and piping fittings
    • Changing lines and instrument lines
    • Change locations and/or remove equipment, valves, reducers and piping fittings

  • Managing your project(s)
    • Project and drawing properties
    • Removing and restructuring your project
    • Copy drawings in the project and between projects
    • Required project files
    • Validating your project
    • Validation settings
  • Managing your Project data
    • The data manager
    • Project and drawing data
    • Import and export data
    • Filter project and drawing data
    • Creating reports
  • Converting AutoCAD symbols
    • Create a symbol
    • Edit a P&ID object block
    • Convert the AutoCAD symbol
  • Plotting and publishing
