Revit Architecture 2008 |
Previously known as Revit Building, Autodesk Revit Architecture works the way you think.
The innovative building design and documentation system helps you work naturally, design freely, and deliver efficiently.
Purpose-built for building information modeling (BIM), Revit Architecture mirrors the real world of buildings, so you work holistically, rather than with isolated elements such as floor plans, sections, and elevations. And with parametric change technology any change you make, anytime, anywhere, is automatically coordinated everywhere in your project—model views, drawing sheets, schedules, sections, and plans—you name it.
With Revit technology design and documentation stay coordinated, consistent, and complete.
Revit Architecture Suite 2008 provides the benefits of both Revit Architecture together with the industry standard platform of AutoCAD 2008.

Groups
Revit Groups, or repeatable units, provide a productive and flexible way to design buildings which contain rooms of similar size, shape or configuration - for example hotels, hospitals, schools and flats.
New work-flow enhancements facilitate group creation and management and the ability to place groups in a design while providing the ability to exclude elements based on particular instances. |

 |
Element and Category graphic overrides
You can now override the visibility and graphic display of individual element instances in a project view. The new visibility/graphics override dialog box allows the user to control cut, surface lines, colours, transparency and patterns for model categories. This makes the creation of compelling presentation graphics a lot easier. |
Colour Schemes
The Colour Fill command has been renamed and enhanced. To apply a colour fill to a room or area plan, you now create a colour scheme and apply that to a plan view. You have the ability to create different colour schemes for different views. You can also customize a colour scheme legend, resize the swatches or change their graphic appearance. |

Shape editing for Slabs, Roofs and Floors
The geometry of horizontal (flat) Roofs and Floors can be edited to allow the creation of sloping forms. Complex geometry can now be easily created using a combination of tools which allow you to draw split lines or point of the flat surface. The additional ‘Modify Sub-Elements’ tool allows points and edges to be selected and moved vertically or laterally allowing the architect or designer to create complex geometric designs. |
Dependent Views
The new Dependent views functionality allows you to manage large foot print plans a lot easier. You can create multiple duplications of a view that are dependent on the original view and reflect not only all model changes of the original view but also all annotation changes. All copies remain synchronous with the original view and all other Dependent views so that when a change is made in one view, it is reflected in all views. |

 |
Openings in Structural Beam, Brace or Column
Users can now add openings to structural beams, braces, or columns using the Opening by Face command. You can either select the vertical face or a horizontal face of the structural framing family. |
File Linking Improvements
Major improvements have been made to the use and workflow of linked files. You can now turn groups into linked links or linked files into groups. The management of linked files is made easier, as linked files now appear in the project browser. You can copy elements from linked Revit files to the clipboard and then paste them in the host model. Linked Revit Model Names and File Names can now also be scheduled. |
