New & Enhanced Features Include
- Enhanced Productivity
- Greater Flexibility
- Smoother Collaboration
For more on these features and others see below, and click above for either more product details or to register for an Excitech web seminar.
Area Documentation
Generate and report space information quickly and accurately. When it comes to Area Documentation, AutoCAD Architecture’s Space Planning tools automate the calculation of room square footage for scheduling purposes. Since AutoCAD Architecture automatically detects boundaries based on schematic linework or actual walls, you no longer have to manually define the room areas. And if you looking for an extra productivity boost to get your job done as quickly and efficiently as possible, AutoCAD Architecture gives you the ability to populate an entire floor plan with spaces, complete with room tags, in a single-click.

Detail Documentation
For those of you who spend a lot of time creating and documenting details, AutoCAD Architecture can help here as well! One of the highest valued features for an AutoCAD user who has migrated to AutoCAD Architecture has to be its ability to draw construction details faster and easier. With this amazing toolkit of 2D detail blocks, known as the Detail Component Manager, creating highly “detailed” details is less tedious thanks to the automated functionality that AutoCAD Architecture provides.

Graphic Editing
Now, making graphic changes to objects in AutoCAD Architecture is as easy as editing linework!
Object Graphic Control
The new Display tab in the Properties Palette provides instant visual feedback after modification of an object or its components. This reduces the steps need to change graphic appearance by leveraging a similar interaction with basic AutoCAD linework. |

Sheet Annotation
When your designs are done and ready for placement on to sheets for plotting, you’ll undoubtedly need to display various aspects of your designs at different scales. Traditionally, creating views of your designs, such as enlarged plans, would mean that all of your annotation would have to be redone to match the scale that the design is currently being displayed at.
With AutoCAD Architecture, a lot of this tedium has greatly been reduced with the introduction of Annotation Scaling.
Annotative Scaling
When you annotate drawings in model space, AutoCAD Architecture automates the process of scaling annotations in various layout viewports and in model space.
Objects that can be designated as “annotative” include text, leaders, dimensions, field codes, hatches, blocks, Tags, Mview blocks, attribute definitions, and tables.

Drawing Management
Sheets Graphics Coordinated With Views
By selecting an option in the Project Setup dialog, changes in a View drawing’s layer display carry over to its corresponding Sheet View layer display. The Sheet View layer states will resolve to and display the same as the layer states in the View drawing.

Data Exchange
As you work with building professionals across various disciplines, I’m sure you’ve found that they are using various applications and file formats, often making it very difficult to exchange designs and important data throughout the course of a project. AutoCAD Architecture helps alleviate this by including multiple options for importing and exporting data.
IFC
AutoCAD Architecture supports IFC Import and Export capabilities natively. A plugin is no longer necessary. AutoCAD Architecture supports IFC 2X2.

Drawing Compare and Review
With Drawing Compare, AutoCAD Architecture has introduced another collaboration tool for architects to improve communication and shorten review cycles when working with an extended design team. With automated tools that track what’s been added, changed and even deleted in a project drawing, architects now have a more efficient alternative to the error-prone methods traditionally used in the past.
This allows you to visually compare versions of drawings, compare by object properties and compare against AutoCAD Architecture structural members exported from Autodesk Revit Structure.

Visualisation
Bring designs to life for impressive client presentations at any stage of the design with integrated rendering. The streamlined visualization capabilities are fully integrated into the AutoCAD Architecture workflow. Make your presentations stand out by visually communicating rich design information.
Integrated Rendering Environment
With AutoCAD Architecture, the inclusion of the Mental Ray rendering engine provides a single in-process rendering environment for creating highly photo-realistic renderings, based on real-world photometric indoor & outdoor lighting, procedural materials, more robust material editing, and inherent interoperability with the AutoCAD family of products.
