What does Excitech has to offer?
Excitech has been accredited by Autodesk as a Software Asset Management Partner. This means that Excitech has been trained and approved by Autodesk to undertake SAM projects.
Because our clients use Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk and myriad of other software, Excitech can deliver SAM projects that cover the use of licenses from all of those vendors.
The primary service offered by Excitech is called a SAM Project. This is a consultancy service whose scope is defined on a case by case basis. However, you will find below an outline of a SAM project.
Excitech's engagement with a customer on a Software Asset Management initiative usually starts with a SAM project. After this initial project, effective Software Asset Management is a perpetual activity which the customer might perform themselves or continue to work on with Excitech. Every SAM Project is different but a project might involve some or all of the following steps:
- Compose a SAM team with representation from senior management involving IT, finance and Excitech
- Review the organisation's policies and procedures with regard to the acceptable use of software
- Review the organisation's policies with regard to its software portfolio, the software required to get the job done
- Determine what software is actually installed and in use within the company
- Determine what software licenses are owned by the company and what rights those licenses carry
- Compare the results of 3, 4 and 5 and report
- Re-design software procurement, acceptable use and software portfolio policies if required
- Staff training
- Defining and delegating responsibilities for ongoing SAM auditing and reporting
