SAM Solutions from Excitech

Excitech offers a range of services that will help you manage your software licenses. Some of these services are included as a free standard element of our ongoing Account Management, whereas others are chargeable.  These services are detailed as follows:

License Enquiries (free)
We obtain a list on your behalf from Autodesk (and other software vendors) of what licenses they have registered against your company name.  Sometimes, this requires a number of passes because the first list might not include licenses you know you own which have been incorrectly registered to a differently spelt company name or address.

Pre-Sales Advice (free)
When you buy new licenses or upgrades, we advise on the most cost effective purchase based on what products you currently own, your rights under the License Agreement, and how many licenses you need to run.

License Audit (chargeable)
A license audit is a much more involved and intensive process than a License Enquiry, and involves us visiting your offices.  In an audit, we will use both automated and manual methods to determine what versions of what products are installed on your network including their serial numbers.

SAM Report (chargeable)
A SAM report goes one step beyond the audit again and reconciles the Autodesk License Report, the Audit results, perhaps your and our records of your historic purchases to come up with an accurate statement of your current license position.  What licenses you own, where they are deployed, whether you are under or over-licensed, and what steps you need to take if any.  Once you have accepted your SAM Report from Excitech we will issue a copy to Autodesk who, after checking the accuracy of the report, will issue your organisation with an Autodesk SAM Certificate in recognition of the fact that you take SAM seriously. Only a SAM Report from an official Autodesk SAM Partner will result in an Autodesk SAM Certificate.  

SAM Consultancy Services (chargeable)
SAM Consultancy may take many forms but will usually involve you engaging us to think and plan strategically with what you need to do with your licenses now and in the future.  There are many options with Autodesk and other vendors to make the best economic use out of your software licenses.  These include deciding whether to run networked or standalone licenses, whether to pool licenses within groups of companies within countries or across country boundaries, understanding what rights are granted by the License Agreement and how they are extended by Autodesk Subscription, and more.  As an Autodesk PSP and Autodesk SAM Partner we are uniquely positioned to advise you on these matters.
