Autodesk Impression

Quickly create compelling, presentation-ready graphics with Autodesk Impression software, the fast and easy way to make an impact on colleagues and clients.

Add everything from pencil lines to watercolor washes to your DWG and DWF files using prebuilt styles, or create your own custom styles to convey your own unique look. And because Impression enables you to save styles, you can quickly update presentation graphics when designs change, as well as apply your signature style (or styles) to all the drawings that your office produces.

Best of all, familiar tools and built-in learning resources make Impression simple to learn.

CAD Compatible

Not only can you open any DWG or DWF file in Impression, but Impression understands your CAD data such as blocks, layers, and hatches.

Pre-built Styles and Blocks

Easily add styles and content to quickly create presentation graphics from your CAD files. Pre-built styles include everything, from coloured pencils, to markers, to washes. And with the included block libraries, you can add entourage such as cars, trees, and people.

Familiar UI and Toolbar

If you’re already used to using Autodesk products, you’ll be familiar with how the layers palette and the Toolbar work.

CAD Update

Designs change all the time, and with Impression, updating your rendered image is as simple as importing your revised CAD geometry to your Impression image.

Custom Styles

All Impression styles are customisable so you can express your own distinctly individual style in an almost infinite number of ways. You can also share your style libraries with colleagues

Block Substitution

Impression takes full advantage of DWG blocks. With Impression you can quickly replace DWG block references with stylised blocks created in Impression.

Built-in Learning Resources

Use the Quick start Tour to help you understand the basic concepts used in creating a rendered image in Impression, with easy to follow step-by-step exercises and informational videos. For a more in-depth introduction to the application, a Quick Start Guide is located in the Help drop-down menu.

Share your work

Impression illustrations can be saved as DWF files, viewable with Autodesk® Design Review and the Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer. They can also be saved into several file formats popular in the desktop publishing world, including PSD, EPS, PDF, and a variety of popular image file formats such as PNG, JPG, and BMP.
