Circuit Manager

Enhancements to the Circuit Manager in AutoCAD MEP 2009 make it a more useful design tool. It is now modeless, dockable, and resizable. Load values for the current panel update as changes are made in the current drawing. You can now see linked panels and loads together in the Circuit Manager. Updating circuit descriptions is also easier. You can also assign spares and spaces in the Circuit Manager.

Schematic Tool Enhancements

The schematic tool enhancements in AutoCAD MEP 2009 give you a way to edit schematic drawings quicker than ever.

Load Categories and Demand Factors

Enhancements to the Circuit Manager, panel schedules, and electrical calculations enable you to accurately apply demand factors to the load totals for each panel.

New AutoCAD Functionality

Because AutoCAD MEP is built on AutoCAD software, you get all the features and functionality that come from an industry-leading CAD program.

Multiple Catalog Selection

You can now select more than one catalog for each domain. After initial implementation, commands such as DuctPreferences or MvPartAdd show all parts found in all the catalogs you have specified.

Improved Export to AutoCAD
Previously exported model views would result in certain items being translated as solids and others as 3D faces; resulting in excessive tessellation on certain fittings.

New Panel Schedules

AutoCAD MEP now supports localized panel schedules for different countries and this enables you to easily create your own layout of a panel schedule. You can define the layout of the panel schedule and what properties to include, and then save and reuse the schedule in other projects.

Enhanced Interference

Enhanced interference detection tools in AutoCAD MEP 2009 help improve design coordination with MEP and other disciplines.

Solution tips help to ensure that the mechanical, electrical, piping, and plumbing systems are connected accurately. Just hover the cursor over the disconnect markers to see tips that identify the reason for the disconnect and give possible solutions for resolving the problem.
